Still Promotion Teaser

 Still Promotion Teaser

The Prelude of still was created to generate the interest of potential viewers before the actual project was released. A number of record labels and artist’s projects similar to this on platforms such as YouTube. Projects like this can also be released in media such as short films and documentaries giving the album a new perspective.  From my point of view, it engages fans like myself to immerse themselves with the image of the artist more.  This is due to the consumer receiving a visual preference of the artist and the album outside of a music video.
In relation to still prelude the initial song we used for the main project was not teased due to this dialogue transitioning into the song, this concept was not kept as we decided this wouldn't correlate with the shots we wanted to film. Any extra footage from the day was used to create the still prelude.

The examples below are a collection of some of my favorite artists. Travis Scott’s ‘You Broke my Heart' is related to a song on his album Birds in the trap sing McKnight. The song edited over the slow motion shots is not featured on the album as it belongs to Bryan McKnight (the man on the piano and the inspiration for the album.)
Instead it conveys Travis's younger self and how this specific Bryan McKnight song influenced his album.

This video displays a link to what I had previously stated about artist making documentaries about albums to develop a higher relevance and interest in their albums. Tyler has done exactly this however only a year after the initial release of his latest album Cherry Bomb. Cherry Bomb was released April 13th 2015 where as the documentary was only released this January 2017. The Artist has managed to use elements of cross media convergence as the documentary can only be purchased online for DVD. In the documentary Tyler goes through each song and talks about the process of creating each one. Those that featured in the album also make an appearance as they are shown recording songs in old footage and commenting on their relationship with Tyler.
